Official Plaque Unveiling


THE latest phase in Blackburn College’s plans to create a ‘world class’ campus was officially unveiled yesterday to rapturous applause and a performance by an X-Factopr star. Education reporter Nafeesa Shan was given an exclusive tour of £18.3million Beacon Centre.

Stonemason To The Rescue At Cemetery

A VANDALISED vault in Blackburn Cemetery has been repaired for free by local stonemasons.

Brent Stevenson Memorials were asked to look at the damage to the family monument by Blackburn with Darwen Council, after a member of public reported seeing two teenagers lifting the vault cover.

Sick Teen Vandals Desecrate Vault

“SICK” teenage vandals have been slammed for desecrating an historic family vault in Blackburn Cemetery.
Just before noon on Sunday, local historian Jayne Waring was at the site in Whalley New Road, Little Harwood, when she noticed a girl and a boy acting suspiciously around a monument to six people.

Stone Mason Will Repair Darwen Graves Free of Charge

GRAVESTONES which were vandalised at Darwen Eastern Cemetery will be repaired free of charge.
Eight headstones were toppled over last week, as well as 24 being damaged at Great Harwood Cemetery.
