Lawn Memorials

• Burnley Cemetery has three lawn sections, two at the top of the cemetery next to Rossendale road (LPA - Non-Conformists & LPB - Church of England) and a third section (LPC - Catholic section) located half way down the cemetery on the right hand side. In the past memorials had to be certain sizes but this rule has now been dropped and you are now allowed memorials up to 3'2" high by 3'0" wide. These sections now have concrete beams allowing the memorial to be erected far sooner.

• Other parts of the cemetery still require their own foundation with a ground anchor used for stability. The maximum sizes for these sections are 4'0" high x 3'0" wide.

• Grave numbers at the top of the cemetery start with the letters NE and below the soldier statue start with the letter A. If no pre-fixed letter then the grave is in the old part of the cemetery.

Cremation / Ashes Section

• Wedges available 12"x 18" x 4/2"

• Either all polished Black or Sea Grey granite, other granite colours are available
  

• Wedge must be placed on a single flag measuring 2'6 x 2'0

• Plot number must be placed on reverse of wedge

• Our wedge price inclusive of ALL Lettering, Fixing & V.A.T. is £295. The only additional charge is a cemetery fee of £88. Total cost £383.
  

• Burnley crematorium has Cremation Walls available, please contact Burnley Cemetery office for further information. The green slate plaques 12" x 9" are sold by Burnley Borough Council directly.

Additional Notes

• THE BOROUGH DOES NOT HAVE IT'S OWN PAPERWORK FOR APPLICATIONS - use our forms but enclose a copy of the grave papers with applications for NEW memorials, NO signature required
  

• Rules have been relaxed on the Lawn Plots - now allow teddy or small heart shapes etc but if unsure ring to check first

• Please ensure type of fixing is confirmed on each application

• Also note on each additional application whether or not the memorial will be removed from the cemetery for the work to be done
